- CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Holder of a Master Degree in one of the following fields: Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration (majoring in Accounts or Finance) or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions with working experience of at least ten (10) years of which two (2) years should be at managerial position. Must possess either CPA (T), ACCA, CIMA, ACA or its equivalent as recognized by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors and registered as Associate Certified Public Accountant or certified public Accountant in Public Practice.
DUTIES
- To head the Internal Audit Unit.
- To plan, manage, direct, control and coordinate all audit functions.
- To formulate and present to the Board of Directors for approval, internal audit policies which are in line with GBT regulatory functions.
- To assess on possible risk factors and recommends appropriate control measures.
- To prepare and implement internal audit plan that provides quality assurance.
- To review and advice on compliance of operations with relevant laws and GBT policies.
- To validate whether business processes and results of operations are consistent with established and approved budget by performing operational reviews and appraising the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which resources are employed.
- To review accounting records and supporting documents to ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial regulations.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommends appropriate improvement.
- To identify and recommend relevant policies that ensure GBT assets are properly accounted and safeguarded.
- To prepare and submit periodic audit reports to the Board of Directors.
- To conduct and supervise investigation of special assignments.
- To mentor, coach and counsel subordinate staff; and
- To undertake other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Board of Director or Director General from time to time.
REMUNERATIONS
Attractive remunerations will be offered to the successful candidate as per the GBT’s Salary Scale.

- Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA);
- Professional certificates from foreign universities and other training institutions should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
